Job Description
Principal Engineer responsible for civil/structural engineering leadership for PV and BESS projects. Overseeing design standards, team management, and client interface for timely deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert and primary technical lead for civil/structural engineering efforts
- Oversee all civil/structural engineering efforts to ensure deliverables are submitted on time and in compliance
- Conduct and review civil/structural engineering designs and studies to develop deliverables
- Lead, manage, and mentor the civil/structural design team on the technical delivery of PV and BESS projects
- Develop and implement a robust set of design standards and best practices
- Interface with clients and other stakeholders to optimize project design and value
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical design packages
- Maintain knowledge of industry codes and standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering
- 10+ years of civil and/or structural design and engineering, including 5+ years in PV or BESS
- Professional Engineer license (one or more US states)
- Experience leading a team of engineers and designers
- Knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ANSI, ASTM and other applicable codes and standards
- Proficiency in applicable engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, L-Pile, and relevant civil and structural analysis software preferred
- EPC experience preferred
