Job Description
SAP Basis Consultant operating customer SAP landscapes for Axians, an ICT infrastructure and digital solutions provider. Managing authorization, databases, transports, monitoring, and system administration.
Responsibilities:
- Support the SAP Basis administration team in serving demanding customers in the SAP Basis environment
- Operate all SAP products, with a focus on ERP and BW
- Administer and operate customer SAP systems
- Perform monitoring, service-level reporting, and Managed System Configuration in Solution Manager
- Manage roles and authorizations
- Handle change and transport management, including transporting transport requests
- Apply Support Packages and SAP Notes
- Perform client copies, kernel upgrades, and system copies
- Administer databases
- Ensure operational functionality as part of the on-call service
- Provide general support and process tickets
- Support the transition phase
- Maintain operating manuals
- Coordinate with backup, infrastructure, and other operations teams, as well as project consultants
Requirements:
- Successfully completed degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field from a university, university of applied sciences, or cooperative education institution; alternatively, equivalent professional experience or vocational training
- Several years of experience in SAP Basis and SAP operations
- Experience managing relevant customer transitions and SAP system administration
- SAP-certified Technology Consultant
- Very good knowledge of at least two of the following platforms: Windows, i5/OS (IBM i, AS/400), AIX, and Linux
- In-depth database knowledge of HANA and at least one additional database system (DB2, Oracle, ASE, or MaxDB)
- Fluent German and good written and spoken English
- Independent, team-oriented, meticulous, and structured working style
- Ability to quickly become familiar with new technologies and processes
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues, employees, and customers
