Job Description

Designer - Electrical responsible for creating and revising high voltage transmission drawings and project support. Requires 5+ years of substations design experience and familiarity with protective relay systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise protection/control drawings of high voltage transmission and distribution substations and lines
  • Peer review of other’s drawings
  • Maintain drawing files – archived, current and working revisions
  • Update drawings to field as-built conditions
  • Provide project support/office support as required
  • Occasional travel to field sites or working at a client’s office may be required

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years’ Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
  • Electrical one-lines, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Low voltage auxiliary power systems (AC and DC station power)
  • Cable and conduit schedules
  • Protective Relay and Control Panel layouts and designs
  • Familiarity with microprocessor relays and associated options/functionality – SEL, GE, etc.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting
  • Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology preferred, but not required.
