Job Description
Project Engineer designing pressure vessels and supporting project execution for CECO Environmental, a provider of industrial air, water, and energy-transition solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications and performance requirements to determine appropriate equipment designs
- Provide engineering and technical support to Project Management for Original Equipment projects
- Provide technical support to the Aftermarket team as needed
- Provide technical information on manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, advantages, and limitations
- Confer with personnel to resolve problems and develop suitable product designs
- Create and review technical datasheets, including regular and ISF formats
- Review general arrangement and detail drawings
- Direct preparation of product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications
- Evaluate and approve structural designs as necessary
- Perform analytical calculations to ensure equipment complies with governing codes and regulations
- Participate in new product and product development strategies
- Travel to customer or vendor sites for meetings or inspections as necessary
- Maintain current knowledge of product and process trends
- Attend internal meetings as required
- Complete project-specific engineering outputs, including equipment specifications, drawings, and Bills of Material reviews
- Interface with vendors, customers, consulting engineers, and representatives on project engineering issues
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Requirements:
- BS degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- ASME VIII Code Experience
- Pressure Vessel Design
- Project Execution
- Fabrication Shop Support
- Experience interfacing with marketing, sales, manufacturing, and vendors regarding product problems and translating customer requirements into product specifications
- Creativity and analytical engineering skills in applying technologies to new projects
- Ability to overcome obstacles, achieve goals, and adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to travel as required
- Experience using MS Office, Excel, and other normal business software
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2-D and 3-D)
- U.S. citizenship required to support U.S. government programs
