Job Description
Quality Assurance Engineer testing web, mobile, API, and integrated systems for Zeal, an AI-enabled consultancy serving Fortune 1000 companies. Building automation and validating software quality across client projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with clients to understand business requirements, identify quality risks, and develop testing strategies
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test plans, test cases, and test scenarios across web, mobile, API, and integrated software systems
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar technologies
- Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools and frameworks
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, exploratory, and acceptance testing throughout the software development lifecycle
- Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate software defects
- Partner with engineers to investigate root causes and validate fixes
- Build scalable automation approaches to improve test coverage, shorten feedback cycles, and reduce repetitive manual testing
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Validate APIs, data integrations, and backend systems
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and client stakeholders to establish acceptance criteria and advocate for quality
- Adapt testing strategies across multiple clients, industries, technical, and business environments
- Build trust with clients and internal teams through communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and execution
Requirements:
- Solid foundation in software quality assurance
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing
- Strong experience designing and executing manual testing strategies, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated tests using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or comparable tools and frameworks
- Experience testing APIs and integrated systems
- Experience with REST APIs, SQL, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#
- Proven ability to identify risks, investigate defects, troubleshoot complex issues, and balance manual and automated testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate quality risks, defects, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to analyze complex systems and requirements and develop practical approaches to software quality
- Keen interest in consulting
