Job Description
Regulatory and reimbursement coordinator managing Medicare, Medicaid, and BlueCross cost reporting for Mercyhealth. Supporting governmental compliance, budgets, reimbursements, audits, and financial performance analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Medicare and other governmental payment policies, compliance, and reporting for all hospital and clinic entities across the Mercy Health System
- Analyze internal and external data and information requests and research Medicare and other governmental payer rules and regulations
- Manage and provide data support for annual Medicare/Medicaid/BlueCross cost report submissions to ensure accurate, timely, and proper reimbursements
- Work routinely with external consultants and governmental auditors to provide supporting information
- Work with outside consultants to complete accurate tax-related documents
- Prepare budgets for multiple entities and respond to managers' questions on budget issues and complex projects
- Prepare pro forma financial analyses of new or changed services within the system
- Analyze complex financial processes and recommend opportunities to improve system financial performance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from four-year college or university or master's degree in a related field
- Five to ten years of experience, including four years in health care finance
- High level of Medicare experience, including preparation of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports
- Experience with accounting and budgeting of patient revenue
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Experience analyzing, modeling, and reporting on other third-party payers
- Computer experience
- Strong accuracy
- Excellent interpretive/analytical skills
- Ability to stand and talk or hear, potentially for extended periods
- Ability to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
