Job Description

Regulatory Representative managing Globalstar’s satellite communications compliance and licensing. Coordinating FCC, ITU, spectrum, export-control, and agency matters across global markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage issues related to Globalstar’s operations that arise in Washington, D.C.
  • Supervise and coordinate advocacy groups and external consultants
  • Coordinate and participate in proceedings with outside counsel
  • Assist in preparing filings and manage regulatory developments in the United States and other countries as needed
  • Coordinate spectrum uses and orbital slot filing with international satellite operators in North America
  • Ensure compliance with export control regulations (ITAR/EAR) for satellite technology and components in North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies in North America and respond to information requests
  • Act as secondary liaison for regulatory agencies across Europe and Asia
  • Support business development by assessing regulatory feasibility of new services or market expansion
  • Maintain and update databases of licenses, authorizations, and regulatory deadlines
  • Prepare regulatory briefings and presentations for leadership
  • Attend regulatory meetings and interface directly with regulatory authorities

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention-to-detail
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with NetSuite
  • Knowledge of FCC rules, ITU radio regulations, and spectrum management principles
  • Understanding of satellite communications technology and RF engineering concepts
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Willingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed
  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)
  • Ability to operate the equipment used for the job
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at times
