Job Description
Remote Reimbursement Specialist managing Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial insurance billing and collections. Supporting Telecare’s behavioral health services through coding and reimbursement expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all billing and collection activities for assigned fee-for-service and third-party facilities
- Handle billing for Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, counties, commercial insurance, and members served
- Keep current with applicable CPT and other coding changes
- Track fee-for-service and/or contract billing rates
- Communicate coding and billing-rate changes to affected Telecare parties
- Travel occasionally to locations where Telecare does business or plans to do business
Requirements:
- Five (5) years of prior medical billing experience or two (2) years of college and one (1) year of healthcare experience
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and commercial insurances
- High level of PC literacy, especially in Excel and Word
- Ability to operate independently, utilizing past extensive reimbursement experience and judgment
- Demonstrated capacity to work with sophisticated automated billing systems
- Must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successful completion of applicable post-offer physical examination
- Successful completion of 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis
- Acceptable criminal background clearances
- Acceptable excluded party sanctions clearance
- Degree or license verification
- If driving is required, valid driver's license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance are required and must be maintained
