Job Description

Distributed Energy Systems Designer developing solar and battery systems for commercial applications. Collaborating with engineering and project teams to optimize energy solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design distributed energy systems including solar PV, battery storage, and related power infrastructure
  • Develop system layouts, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation for energy projects
  • Perform energy modeling, system sizing, and performance calculations
  • Support project teams with technical analysis during project development and engineering phases
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
  • Assist with interconnection documentation and technical submissions for utilities and regulators
  • Review project specifications, equipment selections, and vendor documentation
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of system designs during installation and commissioning
  • Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience designing renewable or distributed energy systems
  • Familiarity with solar PV systems, battery storage, microgrids, or distributed generation technologies
  • Experience with electrical system design, single-line diagrams, and power system calculations
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards
  • Proficiency with engineering design tools and modeling software used in energy system design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project teams

  • Experience with commercial or industrial renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of energy storage integration or microgrid systems
  • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and permitting requirements
  • Professional engineering licensure or progress toward licensure
