Job Description
Revenue Cycle Specialist serving as an order-to-cash SME for Abbott’s healthcare businesses. Supporting EMR queues, patient claims, workflow allocation, and process improvement remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on order-to-cash handling tasks
- Support internal team members with processes and source documents
- Perform Revenue Cycle processes, handle queues in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, and troubleshoot patient claims
- Support workflow management and team resource allocation in collaboration with leadership
- Attend and co-facilitate meetings with internal departments
- Use Microsoft Office and EMR reporting tools to support team initiatives and leadership requests
- Participate in cross-department project initiatives
- Perform duties and document information according to Standard Operating Procedures and workflows
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support Revenue Cycle and Order to Cash functions
- Uphold company mission and values and comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2+ years of experience in a contact center, data entry, or customer service environment
- 2+ years of experience in multiple computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Epic, and Onbase
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical data entry environment utilizing EMR systems
- Proven ability to solve complex problems related to overall workflow processes
- Working knowledge of HIPAA Laws
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing, and insurance terms
- Working knowledge of laboratory terminology
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, with demonstrated ability to navigate multiple systems within order workflow and manipulate files into PDF
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to support work queue turnaround time requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, adapt to changing workloads, and complete assigned tasks promptly
- Ability to work a designated schedule and overtime as needed
- Ability to use a mobile device, tablet, or computer and perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Preferred: experience with project-based work, peer mentorship, multiple concurrent work streams, and process documentation using Microsoft Visio or similar programs
