Job Description

Risk Control Consultant evaluating complex equipment-breakdown risks for CNA, an insurance company. Delivering risk recommendations, underwriting support, training, and broker relationship management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform workplace/work site risk evaluations and consultative risk improvement services for large and/or special accounts
  • Provide risk assessment information on complex accounts to support underwriting for prospective, new and renewal accounts
  • Submit Risk Control recommendations and business solutions to minimize identified exposures
  • Assess customers’ risk control program needs and develop and execute customized strategies and implementation plans
  • Recommend development and implementation of risk control policy, marketing and business strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Develop and conduct education, training and presentations
  • Provide specialty-area expertise to internal and external customers
  • Identify opportunities for or develop new products and services
  • Conduct agency/broker visits, discuss account or book-of-business issues, and market CNA products and services
  • Perform special projects and additional assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional designations preferred
  • Typically a minimum of five to eight years of risk control experience with a proven track record of results
  • Advanced technical and product-specific expertise
  • Risk control evaluation and assessment skills
  • Knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external business partners at all levels
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills across concurrent assignments
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues
  • Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems
  • Proactive, long-term view of business goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
