Job Description

Platform Engineer managing Oracle Endeca and supporting multiple sites applications in São Paulo. Optimizing search engines and resolving incidents for better customer experience across platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a multi-site on-premises Oracle Endeca environment, with dedicated applications and MDEX engines for each site.
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize MDEX engines, DGraph, Forge pipelines, and search/navigation configurations.
  • Analyze and resolve search relevance, navigation, facets, and product discovery issues across multiple sites.
  • Monitor and tune query performance, indexing, and system resource usage to ensure the best customer experience.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents related to search availability, indexing failures, performance degradation, and application integrations.
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot data ingestion pipelines based on Forge and custom ETL processes from flat files.
  • Manage deployments, versioning, and releases using GitLab (custom cartridges, scripts, configurations).
  • Work with Squid proxy infrastructure for cache troubleshooting, routing, latency, and availability between the application and Endeca.
  • Execute Endeca index builds, deployments, rollbacks, and validations in a controlled production environment.
  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, support documentation, deployment procedures, and disaster recovery plans.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing and troubleshooting Forge pipelines and flat-file-based ETL processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Endeca (MDEX, DGraph, search and navigation tuning).
  • Ability to analyze and resolve search relevance, facets, and product discovery issues in multi-site e-commerce.
  • Experience with GitLab (deployments, scripts, rollbacks, production validations).
  • Strong production support experience (incidents, indexing failures, performance degradation, on-call responsibilities).
  • Familiarity with the Endeca Assembler API and integrations with Classic ASP or legacy systems.
  • Experience with Squid proxy and troubleshooting between application and search layers.
  • Knowledge of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS/OPC) or similar batch scheduling tools.
  • Ability to create runbooks, deployment procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
  • Experience tuning Endeca query and indexing performance.
  • Strong collaboration skills with business, merchandising, infrastructure, and application teams.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
