Job Description

Security Alarm Technician installing and servicing intrusion, fire, surveillance, access control, and network systems. Interface Systems delivers managed security, connectivity, and IT solutions to distributed enterprises.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve application issues while maintaining fire alarm, TCP/IP network, video surveillance, access control, and wireless solutions
  • Install, repair, and maintain intrusion, fire, video surveillance, network, and VoIP integrated systems
  • Work in the field using efficient methods to solve service issues
  • Train customers on Interface-provided systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through physical inventory counts
  • Verify and submit inventory documentation according to company policy
  • Install and terminate network and security cabling
  • Firestop various cable penetrations
  • Adhere to and promote OSHA health and safety policies
  • Interface with customer contacts on projects and service requests
  • Coordinate with vendors and end users for each project
  • Interact hands-on with customers at the site level
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle and tools
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Verifiable field experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a field technician in the electronic security industry
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings
  • Understanding of telecom, data, security, and wireless systems terminology
  • Understanding of standard telecom, data, security, and wireless systems practices, engineering, and safety standards
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to pass applicable state and federal background checks to become a registered security installer
  • Comfortable using small hand tools and power tools
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight
  • Finger and wrist dexterity and hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to perform heavy physical effort
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds
  • Ability to work at heights using proper fall protection
  • Ability to carry loads up and downstairs
  • Vocational/Technical/Business School education strongly preferred
  • NICET Certification is a plus
