Job Description
Security Analyst I monitoring and responding to cyber threats for Ntiva, a managed services provider. Investigating alerts, securing accounts, documenting incidents, and escalating complex cases.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor security dashboards, queues, and alerts from automated tools and escalated tickets
- Conduct initial investigations into security alerts and perform rapid response actions such as securing user accounts
- Collect log data for analysis and determine incident scope and severity
- Resolve straightforward issues and escalate complex cases to Level 2 Analysts with clear information
- Review and implement authorized routine changes to security tools, including EDR exemption requests and temporary setting adjustments
- Collaborate with security analysts and engineers by sharing information and participating in team discussions
- Communicate with end-users and clients to gather incident details, explain security procedures, and provide resolution guidance
- Coordinate security responses with Reactive Support, Client Strategy, NOC, and other departments
- Document investigations, actions, communications, and resolutions in ConnectWise
- Provide timely, professional, customer-service-oriented support for security inquiries
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity
- 3–5 years in an IT role including log analysis, account/access management, or endpoint troubleshooting
- CySA+, GCIH, or SC-200 certification, or actively pursuing one
- Hands-on exposure to at least one EDR/SIEM platform, such as SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, or Microsoft Sentinel
- Direct hands-on experience using ConnectWise Manage for ticket documentation
- Demonstrated track record of clear, timestamped, audit-ready incident notes
- Practical familiarity with SIEM log correlation, Windows Event Viewer security log IDs such as 4624/4625/4648, or a ticketing-based alert queue
- Professional written and oral English communication skills
- Ability to write business correspondence and process procedures
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public
- Sharp attention to detail and proactive approach to accuracy and thoroughness
- Strong customer-service orientation and record of exceeding client expectations
- Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability to evolving technology and industry trends
- Reliable attendance and full alertness during scheduled hours
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to federal government contract obligations and access to secured information systems
- Must establish a dedicated, secure, distraction-free remote workspace
- Must be able to work Friday–Monday, 12am–11am CST after required day-shift training
- Must participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Extended periods of sitting or standing and regular computer and office-equipment use
- Additional outside employment is not permitted
