Job Description

Security Engineer Consultant II designing and implementing cloud and application security solutions for Allstate’s insurance business. Supporting DevOps/SecOps, vulnerability management, and secure IaaS/PaaS/SaaS implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build security solutions balancing infrastructure and application flexibility with protection against security threats
  • Work alongside Senior Security Engineers/Architects and assist with proof of concepts and security solution implementation
  • Assist with security and compliance projects involving cloud, operating systems, applications, databases, and security requirements
  • Help engineers implement security tools supporting DevOps/SecOps processes and cloud computing resources
  • Participate in Design & Build IT projects, steering cloud configurations and services toward leading security practices
  • Participate in security engineering discussions for enterprise IT and Business IT teams in IaaS/PaaS/SaaS implementations
  • Drive and communicate change supporting DevOps/SecOps methodology
  • Support software installations, systems monitoring and troubleshooting, account management, and efforts to minimize system downtime
  • Perform basic system vulnerability scanning using approved tools and automate scanning where possible
  • Understand system vulnerabilities and threats and assess overall system security risks

Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience is preferred
  • Aptitude to understand new security strategies
  • Experience or knowledge across cloud, operating systems, applications, databases, and security issues and requirements
  • Understanding of DevOps ideologies and ability to support DevOps/SecOps methodology
  • Understanding of software installations, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, account management, and system uptime efforts
  • Ability to perform basic system vulnerability scanning using approved software tools
  • Ability to automate vulnerability scanning
  • Understanding of system security vulnerabilities and associated threats
  • Ability to assess overall system security risks
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States
  • For remote work, a dedicated private workspace, appropriate desk and seating, and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload are required
