Job Description

Security Engineer leading advanced penetration testing and agentic AI workflows for Cisco’s cloud and on-premises products. Identifying vulnerabilities and guiding remediation to strengthen global customer security.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced penetration testing engagements for on-premises and cloud application portfolios
  • Create sophisticated attack plans to identify vulnerabilities
  • Provide detailed, actionable remediation guidance to development teams
  • Build and operate agentic AI workflows to scale security testing
  • Increase testing coverage across complex system architectures
  • Make risk-based security decisions
  • Champion a proactive security culture using human judgment and autonomous agents
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to improve product security maturity

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience, Master’s plus 4 years, or PhD plus 1 year in application-level penetration testing
  • Offensive security experience across web applications, mobile applications, networks, and distributed systems
  • Technical understanding of common vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and remediation strategies
  • Experience with public cloud platforms, specifically AWS and GCP
  • Ability to develop and maintain custom tooling using Python or Bash
  • Preferred: active contributions to the security community, including research publications, CVEs, open-source projects, or bug-bounty recognitions
  • Preferred: experience with C++, Javascript, Python, or Go
  • Preferred: experience with Splunk products or similar large-scale data platforms
  • Preferred: experience building cross-functional relationships with engineering teams
  • Preferred: communication, mentoring, and constructive technical feedback experience
