Job Description
Cybersecurity Architect leading RMF, risk mitigation, and ATO efforts for DoD Zero Trust systems. GDIT delivers technology and mission services to U.S. government, defense, and intelligence agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term cybersecurity strategies and plans
- Lead RMF efforts for a large distributed system to obtain an ATO
- Identify, analyze, and assess security risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Create and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Support incident response, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery
- Support vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and other security tests
- Collaborate with IT professionals, business stakeholders, and external vendors
- Stay current on cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices
- Mentor junior security professionals and train employees on security best practices
- Interface with the government customer to present program cyber risks
Requirements:
- Current Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
- Advanced IT security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of related experience
- 5–10 years of experience in IT security and IT risk management recommended
- Understanding of Zero Trust Network Architecture security principles and implementation tools
- Understanding of networks, protocols, devices, firewalls, and VLANs
- Knowledge of encryption, pseudonymization, and data masking
- Understanding of risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation techniques
- Skills in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents
- Ability to troubleshoot security issues and develop solutions
- Knowledge of security frameworks, IT risk management, DoD RMF controls, security audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards
- Understanding of enterprise architecture principles
- Knowledge of secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix security configurations
- Proficiency with zero trust security tools including IDS, DLP, IAM, firewalls, and ZTNA
