Job Description
Network Security Engineer Senior impacting national security in cyber at GDIT. Responsible for maintaining security and integrity of customer networks with advanced firewall management.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect network and information systems.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Work with other IT and security team members to design, implement, and maintain security frameworks.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of configurations, changes, and security incidents.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Technical skills: In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.
- Strong experience with deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
- Proven experience with other security devices and platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or AWS Certified Security - Specialty are a plus.
