Job Description
Senior Accountant preparing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance work for Australian clients. Remote Philippines-based contractor using Xero and related accounting systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and workpapers for Australian clients
- Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including reconciliations, BAS preparation, and compliance support
- Use Xero Tax, Xero Ledger, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), and FYI Docs to manage workflows and documentation
- Use Ignition, Adobe PDF, MS Office, and AccountKit to support accounting and client processes
- Liaise with onshore accountants to clarify issues, resolve discrepancies, and meet deadlines
- Support the practice lead by proactively managing workload and identifying efficiency improvements
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of accounting experience; Australian public practice experience highly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the Xero stack, including Xero Tax, Xero Ledger, and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
- Strong working knowledge of FYI Docs and general accounting software
- Proficiency in Ignition, Adobe PDF, and MS Office, including Excel and Word
- Familiarity with AccountKit is a plus
- Ability to quickly pick up processes and work effectively in a remote setup
- Willingness to focus on preparation and review work, with no ATO lodgement responsibility
- Must be based in the Philippines
- Must disclose existing ongoing roles or client work
