Job Description
Senior AI Engineer building production AI agents, workflows, and Azure platforms for Tieto’s digital consulting clients. Supporting customer engagements, AI operations, and technical team growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build AI agents and workflows solving concrete business problems
- Take technical ownership of applied AI solutions, including architecture decisions, engineering standards, and code quality
- Build enterprise-grade solutions on modern AI platforms, mainly Azure
- Set up environments for agentic workloads at scale, including GenAIOps, CI/CD, observability, systematic evaluation, and cost control
- Work with customers' data landscapes, including data pipelines, retrieval, data quality, sensitive-data handling, and access control
- Integrate AI solutions into customers' existing IT landscapes and hand them over to operational teams
- Support pre-sales through technical scoping and effort estimates
- Build customers' AI capabilities through workshops and training
- Grow the team through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical mentoring
- Evaluate suitable technologies, shape customer engagements, and turn prototypes into enterprise-grade solutions
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI solutions in production, not just prototypes
- Practical experience with LLM-based systems: RAG, agents, or comparable applied GenAI work
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, including testing, code structure, APIs, and CI/CD
- Good understanding of cloud-based AI architectures and production environments, preferably Azure
- Good understanding of data engineering and integration concepts
- Structured approach to quality and systematic evaluation of AI systems
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Professional working proficiency in German and English
- Nice to have: Experience with Azure AI services and GenAIOps/MLOps tooling
- Nice to have: Background in classical machine learning with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
- Nice to have: Previous consulting or customer-facing technology project experience
- Nice to have: Experience with AI governance or model evaluation
- Nice to have: Experience mentoring engineers or owning technical workstreams
