Job Description
Senior Automation Software Tester building scalable QA automation for Mirantis Secure Registry. Testing Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, security, performance, and resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the overall QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments
- Evaluate and champion testing practices and frameworks for distributed systems
- Lead risk analysis and test planning for large-scale, multi-cloud registry, infrastructure, and container orchestration
- Architect test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components in multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud environments
- Design complex test scenarios simulating production workloads, scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters
- Develop scalable, maintainable test automation integrated with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Use Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to build automation coverage for system health, failover, and network resilience
- Promote repeatable, extensible, and reliable infrastructure-as-code test infrastructure
- Mentor QA engineers and developers in risk-based, chaos, performance, and load testing
- Serve as QA authority in design reviews, production readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for CI/CD test automation
- Establish quality gates, release-readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops
- Integrate performance, security, and chaos testing into the development lifecycle
- Advocate for quality culture and influence architecture decisions with testing considerations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years in software testing or quality engineering roles
- 4+ years focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems
- Proven leadership experience building and scaling test strategies in enterprise-grade environments
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities with Python, Pytest, and Bash
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, RBAC, secrets management, and K6
- Grounding in AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD
- Moderate to advanced Linux knowledge and proficiency
- Bash scripting and debugging; systemd/logs; networking, firewalling, and routing
- Certificate/PKI management; Docker/containerd; kubectl/Helm with OCI registries; GitOps/Flux
- Exceptional problem-solving and architectural thinking
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Mentorship and coaching of 1 or more junior team members
- Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects are preferred
- Experience implementing chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments is preferred
- CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certifications are preferred
