Job Description
Senior Backend Developer developing robust backend solutions and APIs at HostGator. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and scalability in high-availability systems.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and develop software solutions based on requests from the Product team
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs
- Collaborate with Product, Front-end, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
- Ensure scalability, security, reliability, and performance of backend applications
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to designing new solutions and evolving existing systems
- Perform code reviews and share knowledge with other developers
- Ensure delivery quality, including creating and maintaining automated tests
- Provide technical support for production systems, assisting in diagnosing and resolving issues
- Support continuous improvement of development processes by proposing new technologies, methodologies, and best practices
- Keep technical documentation up to date and aligned with system changes
- Set up development environments and support deployment and release processes
- Stay up to date with industry trends and ensure proper use of current best practices and technologies
Requirements:
- Proven experience in backend development, working with high-availability, scalable systems
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as PHP, Go, Python, Java, or Node.js
- Deep knowledge of developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
- Experience with version control systems, especially Git
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and software engineering best practices
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
- Solid knowledge of security, performance, and observability best practices
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Intermediate to advanced English
