Job Description

Senior Electrical Engineer designing utility-scale solar, wind, and storage infrastructure for Blattner. Leading engineering reviews, interconnections, constructability, and technical delivery across renewable-energy projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical engineering solutions supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects through either estimating or project execution
  • Lead electrical design development, Basis of Design (BOD) documentation, engineering reviews, RFIs, and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review electrical one-line diagrams, protection and control systems, grounding plans, cable routing, equipment layouts, and third-party engineering packages
  • Collaborate with Owners, Engineers of Record (EOR), Estimating, Project Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Construction teams
  • Support utility interconnections, electrical equipment selection, procurement strategies, and technical submittal reviews
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, constructability reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments
  • Mentor Engineer I, Engineer II, and CAD Designers
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining engineering quality, schedules, and client expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards, workflows, and design quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required, or ability to obtain within one year of hire
  • Four or more years of progressive electrical engineering experience supporting utility-scale power generation, renewable energy, industrial, EPC, or heavy infrastructure projects
  • Experience managing multiple engineering priorities while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage (BESS) projects
  • Strong knowledge of underground collection systems, substations, transmission interconnections, protection and control systems, SCADA, power quality, load flow analysis, and electrical equipment sizing
  • Experience in Estimating Engineering, Project Engineering, or both
  • Experience collaborating with Owners, Engineers of Record (EOR), utilities, EPC partners, and construction teams
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and improve engineering quality and project delivery
