Job Description
Enterprise Information Architect designing PODS’s enterprise data architecture, governance, and modernization roadmap. Leading cloud, analytics, integration, and information architecture initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, analyze and design PODS’s Enterprise Information Architecture
- Build a holistic view and roadmap of the Company’s technology strategy, processes and information technology roadmap
- Partner with business and technology groups to align technical solutions with company objectives and mission
- Deliver Information Architecture blueprints and designs aligned with functional IA roadmaps
- Evangelize Information Architecture and the value and impact of IA design and governance to IT and business teams
- Independently initiate and coordinate teams in complex technology evaluations, proofs of concept and prototyping exercises
- Design and document data flows across the estate
- Design data models for analytics and reporting and assess their feasibility
- Work with business data governance groups to establish master, reference and structural data standards
- Work with solution architects on data integration and service architectures
- Determine architectural designs and change requirements supporting targeted business outcomes
- Establish and document strategic standards for enterprise application architecture across diverse platforms and engineering and development teams
- Oversee mapping of enterprise information architecture models to package application models and assess vendor solution suitability
- Ensure business data and information needs are realized through intentional information architecture
- Document infrastructure architecture environments and procedures
- Blueprint data architecture, including multi-year transitions and recommendations for transformation and modernization
- Re-engineer and maintain an enterprise-wide view of data across business systems
- Analyze user-community information requirements and design supporting data structures
- Champion enterprise information solutions including MDM, metadata management, analytics, content management and data integration
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study
- Minimum of 12+ years of enterprise-level experience in one or more of: data architecture, database design, business intelligence
- At least 12 years of experience working for a company or governmental agency with at least 300 employees (private sector) or 500 employees (governmental agency)
- 7+ years’ experience as a Data Architect
- Enterprise Architecture framework qualification such as TOGAF or ZF is a plus
- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with MDM, BI, data warehouse design and implementation techniques
- Knowledge of industry-standard middleware, ETL, master data hub, and service-oriented architecture, design and delivery solutions
- Experience with BI and analytics architectures, including traditional warehousing, distributed computing, NoSQL, virtualization or data streaming
- Experience defining Information Architectures for cloud-based solutions and technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, Azure SQL, Cassandra and Cosmos
- Understanding of and hands-on experience with ERWin or an industry-standard modelling tool for OLTP and OLAP data models and implementation
- Understanding of domain modelling, business process data flows, business information modelling, entity flows diagrams, common information models and Master Data Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Stack
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI and Snowflake
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience implementing data management capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management and Data Governance
