Job Description

Senior claims examiner settling complex homeowners property claims for CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA personal-lines insurer. Investigating coverage, estimating repairs, coordinating adjusters, and resolving claims remotely across eligible U.S. states.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle homeowners property and personal property claims from first notice of loss through resolution
  • Serve as owning adjuster for assigned low- to higher-complexity claims
  • Oversee service providers conducting physical or virtual inspections
  • Assign, coordinate, and oversee independent adjuster assignments
  • Manage homeowners property claims and handle applicable first-party coverages and Key Operating Losses
  • Analyze policy language, endorsements, and state regulations to investigate coverage
  • Communicate coverage decisions and resolve coverage-related questions
  • Coordinate emergency mitigation services
  • Write and review repair estimates, evaluate contractor estimates, and determine claim payments and reserves
  • Identify subrogation and Special Investigation Unit opportunities and prepare referrals
  • Manage relationships with independent adjusters, public adjusters, attorneys, contractors, and other external partners
  • Conduct virtual claim inspections and collaborate remotely with customers, vendors, and independent adjusters
  • Prepare claim correspondence, including settlement letters, partial denials, and denials
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely, compliant claim handling
  • Develop knowledge and skills to progress to Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster competency

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Six years of related professional experience with transferable skills or four years of claims experience, preferably in homeowners claims
  • A related bachelor’s degree or higher may substitute for up to two years of required experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Insurance adjuster licenses in applicable states
  • Knowledge of homeowners insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures
  • Knowledge of the Xactimate estimating platform
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex coverage decisions and prepare customer correspondence
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Two years of experience handling complex property claims would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of residential home construction and repair practices would be advantageous
  • Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the United States
  • Must not require immigration support now or in the future
