Job Description
Field Applications Scientist supporting Repligen’s bioprocess filtration products in China. Providing technical pre- and post-sales support, customer training, troubleshooting, and process-development guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers for Repligen downstream product lines
- Respond to customer requests for technical support
- Give technical seminars and perform product demonstrations
- Provide on-site/in-lab support and training
- Troubleshoot and assist with voice of customer surveys
- Develop and execute project plans using Repligen technologies
- Draft detailed technical reports from customer interactions
- Provide customer feedback to product management and R&D for continuous product improvement
- Contribute to applications data and collateral generation
- Present technical posters and seminars at trade shows, WeChat, and conferences
- Develop and support customers through the clinical pipeline from lab-scale to large-scale commercial processes
- Collaborate with sales account managers, product management, quality assurance, marketing, and R&D scientists/engineers
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSc degree in a scientific discipline (biology, biochemistry, or related field)
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a downstream purification discipline in a development or manufacturing setting in the bioprocessing industry
- Relevant experience in filtration and chromatography
- Working knowledge of scale-up/scale-down, tech transfer and cGMP requirements
- Knowledge and experience in Gene/Cell Therapy is a plus
- Hands-on skills on TFF operation and experience on column packing are a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional team members and lead through influence
- Ability to take responsibility for results and performance without direct authority
- Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, multi-tasking skills, and organizational skills
- Able to draft and execute SOPs and work instructions
- Self-learning ability and resourcefulness and creativity to resolve complex problems in the field
- Proficient in Chinese and English, including listening, reading, writing, and speaking
- Able to travel up to 70% domestically and occasionally internationally
