Job Description
Senior Full Stack Developer overseeing software quality and team mentoring at MicroVentures. Responsible for technical standards, code reviews, and full-stack development in Laravel and Vue.js.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering leadership to establish and enforce coding standards and architectural patterns
- Contribute to technical planning, sprint grooming, and architecture decisions
- Own the code review process and ensure team adherence to established standards
- Help assess technical feasibility for new features and initiatives
- Onboard and mentor new team members
- Identify opportunities to reduce tech debt and improve developer experience
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical problems
- Develop, test, and maintain full-stack functionality using PHP 8.4 and Laravel 12.x
- Build and consume RESTful APIs for internal and external applications
- Use wireframes and mockups to create responsive UIs using Vue.js 2.x+, and TailwindCSS
- Design and optimize database schemas in MySQL; work with DynamoDB for appropriate workloads
- Manage AWS infrastructure including RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and related services
- Define and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or AWS CDK
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using CodeBuild and CodePipeline
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel/PHP
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Vue.js
- 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring developers
- Highly proficient in modern PHP 8.x, unit testing, and RESTful API design
- Strong understanding of MySQL - schema design, optimization, and migrations
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Experience with AWS services (RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, S3, ElastiCache, CloudFront)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or CDK)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (CodeBuild, CodePipeline) and deployment automation
- Strong awareness of security best practices, data consistency, and atomic transaction logic
- Ability to own a project end-to-end: R&D, architecture, documentation, and execution
- Excellent communication skills. Able to collaborate effectively with leadership and team members
- A product-focused mindset that connects business value to technical solutions
