Job Description

Senior Information Security Analyst strengthening Golden 1 Credit Union’s cybersecurity controls. Leading vulnerability management, threat hunting, incident response, and compliance support for a California credit union.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead vulnerability management activities and identify potential threats
  • Coordinate and direct technology staff in identifying and remediating system vulnerabilities across the computing environment
  • Escalate immediate and severe issues to the Manager – Information Security and senior leadership
  • Maintain, improve, and develop processes supporting asset, patch, network, vulnerability, change, and configuration management monitoring
  • Prepare for and participate in threat hunting and security incident response activities
  • Work with IT and Information Support teams to develop response readiness
  • Provide information security oversight and consultative support for technical and non-technical projects
  • Define and evaluate functional requirements and specifications for security systems
  • Partner with IT Development and Support teams to secure on-premises and cloud environments
  • Establish and manage anti-virus, malware, and DLP policies
  • Monitor, measure, test, and report on information security control effectiveness and policy compliance
  • Recommend new security solutions and improvements to existing controls
  • Train colleagues on cyber-attack Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures and mentor junior teammates
  • Keep management updated on unresolved issues according to escalation procedures
  • Support internal and external auditors during examinations and address audit recommendations
  • Maintain understanding of applicable credit union laws and regulations
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Security, Information Assurance, or equivalent industry experience required
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in the management, configuration, administration, installation, and evaluation of network or operating systems software, hardware, and applications required
  • Microsoft and Linux experience desired
  • 3+ years’ experience in organizational information security, information assurance, or providing security consulting services required
  • Expertise in information security, vulnerability management, threat detection, and risk mitigation
  • Ability to lead incident response and threat hunting activities
  • Experience improving security monitoring, managing vulnerabilities, evaluating security solutions, supporting audits, and driving secure configuration and change management practices
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws
