Job Description
Senior technician troubleshooting and repairing MotoTrbo-LCP radio and BDA/DAS systems for Day Wireless Systems, a wireless integrator. Programming equipment, diagnosing communications systems, and providing field technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Program, troubleshoot, and conduct system diagnostics for MotoTrbo-LCP radio systems and BDA/DAS systems
- Utilize industry-standard test equipment, including service monitors/analyzers, watt meters, and hand tools
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Repair and provide technical support and documentation for MotoTrbo-LCP systems, mobile and portable subscribers, and BDA/DAS systems
- Maintain and repair base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, and battery backup systems
- Maintain Avtec dispatch console equipment
- Diagnose and repair BDA/DAS systems and other electronic components
Requirements:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or vocational school in electronics and wireless system repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years of related work experience in electronic communications repair
- Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, combiners, and basic networking skills
- Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office and specialized radio programming software
- FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, CET (ETA), NICET I, NICET II, or equivalent industry certification preferred
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Approximately 80% travel during work weeks
