Job Description

AV Installation Technician II installing, configuring, and maintaining audiovisual and videoconferencing systems for Astreya. Supporting room checks, commissioning, repairs, and project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end system engineering and quality assurance for integrated audiovisual and video conferencing technologies
  • Install AV systems, including first-fix works, containment, cable pulling, structural fixings, second-fix equipment installation, patching, configuration, handover checks, and commissioning support
  • Collaborate with installation teams, lead engineers, project managers, systems design and project engineering teams, programmers, and logistics support
  • Interpret and follow technical and construction drawings
  • Prepare equipment and parts for upcoming installations
  • Maintain onsite housekeeping standards
  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance visits, fault-finding, and repairs
  • Maintain installation processes and good working practices to improve efficiency and project delivery
  • Attend team briefings and provide ideas and suggestions
  • Report progress and issues to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager
  • Provide post-installation feedback and support, including commissioning and snagging assistance
  • Support AV meeting rooms, multimedia presentations, broadcasting, and emergency/ad-hoc requests
  • Perform preventative room checks, report faults, provide first-line diagnosis and minor fault rectification, and conduct power down/up activities when required

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and a ‘can-do’, ‘team first’ approach
  • Flexible approach to working schedules, including out-of-hours and weekends
  • Ability to work unsupervised when necessary
  • Ability to read and understand AV schematics
  • Data gathering, reporting, metrics, and administrative skills
  • AV/VC systems knowledge in a corporate environment, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco, BlueJeans, and Pexip
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Understanding of audio and video protocols and codecs
  • Ability to draft and present technical reports in English
  • Skills and experience installing modern audio, videoconferencing, and AV systems
  • Understanding of end-to-end audiovisual and video installation project complexities
  • Evening/overnight and weekend working required
