Job Description

Senior People Data Scientist delivering HR reporting and advanced analytics using Databricks and Oracle HCM. Collaborating on HR data insights and visualization with Power BI.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom reports in Oracle HCM using SQL to support HR operations and analytics.
  • Write advanced SQL queries to extract and transform HR data from Oracle tables.
  • Analyze HR datasets for workforce insights (headcount, attrition, recruiting, talent & succession planning, engagement, team performance).
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of HR data across systems.
  • Perform advanced analytics and modeling in Databricks using Python and SQL.
  • Leverage Databricks notebooks for data exploration, transformation, and machine learning.
  • Publish curated datasets from Databricks to BI tools (Power BI) for HR scorecards and executive reporting.
  • Apply Python and statistical techniques for predictive modeling (e.g., attrition forecasting, workforce planning).
  • Use Databricks ML and Delta Lake for scalable analytics.
  • Identify trends and deliver actionable insights to HR leadership.
  • Partner with HR leaders to translate business questions into data requirements.
  • Work closely with Data Engineering and Platform teams to ensure HR data is clean, standardized, and accessible.
  • Document processes and create user-friendly guides for HR stakeholders.
  • Understand and apply PII masking and compliance requirements for HR data.
  • Ensure adherence to privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and internal security standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Oracle HCM reporting and SQL.
  • Expert in Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, ML workflows).
  • Strong Python and SQL for analytics and modeling.
  • Advanced Power BI skills for visualization and dashboarding.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM reporting and HR data structures.
  • Familiarity with HR metrics and KPIs.
  • Proven track record as a technical expert with the ability to execute an analytics strategy evolving basic HR reporting to modern business intelligence.
  • Familiarity with HR metrics and KPIs (headcount, attrition, talent indicators, etc.).
  • Experience implementing governance processes for data masking, security, and compliance controls for sensitive data.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations and best practices for PII handling.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, IT, and Data Governance teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with a major in computer science, data science, information systems, statistics, mathematics or related field
  • Preferred Master’s Degree in data analytics, business intelligence or related field
  • 5+ years experience in HR Data Analytics or similar roles
  • Highly valued: Databricks certified professional
  • Highly valued: MS PowerBI/Azure certification(s)
  • Highly valued: Recognized certification(s) in SQL & Python
