Job Description
Senior Platform Engineer responsible for designing and improving the AWS serverless data platform at IMS, a leading connected insurance and telematics provider.
Responsibilities:
- Design, operate, and continuously improve the AWS serverless data platform.
- Maintain self-service tooling, templates, and scaffolding for serverless resources.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and runbooks.
- Act as a trusted technical partner to product and data engineering squads.
- Ensure platform infrastructure adheres to security best practices.
- Own and evolve IaC for all platform infrastructure using tools like Terraform.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through regular platform reviews.
Requirements:
- Deep, hands-on experience with the core serverless stack.
- Knowledge of AWS IAM, VPC, and security patterns.
- Strong Python skills are essential.
- Java familiarity is a benefit for legacy pipeline work.
- Proficiency in Terraform is a must.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfortable with CloudWatch and ideally a third-party observability tool.
- Practical knowledge of least-privilege IAM and secrets management.
