Job Description

Lead Software Engineer in Test Consultant at GFT driving quality engineering initiatives and managing contractor teams for automated testing. Collaborating with engineering teams to establish test strategies and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents to identify testing requirements and automation opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated integration and end-to-end test suites using Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Establish test strategies, automation standards, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Validate complex business workflows, system integrations, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to ensure testability and quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
  • Investigate defects, identify root causes, and provide actionable recommendations to development teams.
  • Lead and coordinate testing activities performed by contractor resources assigned to projects.
  • Assess contractor performance, technical capabilities, and quality of deliverables.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and interviews for proposed contractor resources.
  • Recommend staffing adjustments, resource substitutions, and skill alignment based on project needs and performance.
  • Mentor and guide test engineers to improve delivery quality and consistency.
  • Establish productivity, quality, and automation standards for contractor teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality engineering delivery and resource effectiveness.
  • Provide regular status reporting, risk assessments, and recommendations to project leadership.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience developing automated tests using Playwright.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web application testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into automated test scenarios.
  • Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or coordinating contractor resources.
  • Strong understanding of API testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing strategies.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
