Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building low-latency conversational banking AI agents at Glia. Designing agentic voice frameworks, LLM guardrails, and reliable real-time production systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and ship the core agentic voice AI framework, including conversation orchestration, tool calling, and runtime architecture
  • Build and evolve guardrails, grounding, policy checks, and evaluation controls for trustworthy banking LLM agents
  • Profile, measure, and optimize latency across the real-time voice pipeline
  • Unify runtime architecture and reduce configuration friction for rapidly launching new banking use cases
  • Maintain stability and reliability of existing production systems
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams across Europe and Vancouver to turn ambiguous problems into shipped outcomes
  • Use AI-assisted development tools daily and help establish standards for reviewing and verifying agent-generated code

Requirements:

  • Production experience building AI systems
  • Strong understanding of LLM architecture, including prompting and context management, tool use and agentic flows, retrieval and grounding, evaluation, and latency/cost/quality tradeoffs
  • Real-time or voice AI experience is a strong plus
  • Experience with agent SDKs such as the Claude Agent SDK or OpenAI Agents SDK is a strong plus
  • Ability to design complex components, make sound tradeoffs, and identify risks early
  • Track record of fast, reliable delivery and ownership of quality
  • Experience directing, verifying, and reviewing AI-generated code
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, partnering with PMs, and driving projects to delivery
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar tools and practices quickly
  • Clear written and verbal communication and effectiveness on a distributed team
  • Ability to overlap at least 2 hours daily with Pacific Time, specifically 9:00–11:00 AM PT
  • Prior tech lead, team lead, or mentorship experience is ideally preferred
  • Proficiency with Python, Elixir, TypeScript, React/JavaScript, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, AWS, DataDog, Jenkins, Argo CD, Gemini, Claude Code, Terraform, Kafka, GitHub, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, as stated in the required application screening question
  • Applicants must be located and authorized to work lawfully in Poland, as stated in the required application screening questions
  • Production experience creating or maintaining applications using TypeScript, as stated in the required application screening question
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and related technologies
  • Experience leading projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience making or heavily influencing significant technical or architectural decisions on complex projects
