Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building metrics collection and ingestion for Sysdig’s cloud-security platform. Solving scalable systems problems across agents, Kubernetes, and backend services.
Responsibilities:
- Join a cross-functional team owning metrics collection and ingestion end to end, from agents on customer hosts and Kubernetes nodes to Sysdig backend ingestion and processing
- Solve performance, scalability and correctness problems across the pipeline
- Lead technical design for features across the agent and backend
- Collaborate with product and design on specifications and timelines
- Contribute to building and improving the product with the team
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle urgent issues
- Report to the Engineering Manager
Requirements:
- Advanced coding skills, with 5+ years of professional experience in at least one of Rust, Go or C/C++, and willingness to learn and work across different technologies
- Solid systems-programming background: Linux internals, processes, control groups, networking and file I/O
- Experience building performance-sensitive software that runs on customer infrastructure: resource-bounded, robust to partial failures, and safe to run privileged
- Familiarity with distributed systems: horizontally scalable services, and/or event-driven architectures
- Fluency in English
- Experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation or container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O, Docker) is a strong plus
- Familiarity with observability tools and telemetry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Kubernetes is a strong plus
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
