Job Description
Software QA analyst testing NCCPA applications through functional, regression, manual, and automated testing. Supporting defect resolution, acceptance testing, deployments, and quality control.
Responsibilities:
- Test software applications against design specifications and user requirements using requirements traceability and a risk-based approach
- Develop and execute functional, regression, manual, and automated software tests
- Analyze test results for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Communicate identified issues to QA and development teams
- Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with software developers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects
- Participate in design reviews, functional walkthroughs, defect triage meetings, and customer acceptance testing
- Support test planning, scheduling, and execution across application development projects
- Assist with software deployment planning, implementation, and quality control activities
- Support change control processes for development, quality, and production environments
- Apply and continue developing software testing best practices and methodologies
- Report to the Manager of Software & Data Quality Assurance
Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States; NCCPA will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field
- 1–3 years of experience in software development, research, product testing, quality assurance, or a related area
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timeline commitments and deadlines
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment
- Proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Clear and effective communication with QA, developers, and other stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of individual responsibilities
- Ability to perform effectively under time constraints and shifting priorities
- Curiosity and willingness to continue developing software testing knowledge and technical skills
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and Scrum framework
- Experience with Transact-SQL queries and relational databases
- Experience with defect-tracking tools or Microsoft Visual Studio tools
- Familiarity with .NET, VB Script, C#, JavaScript, or Python
- Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver
- Experience troubleshooting software installations or hardware or providing software technical support
- Remote employees must have a home office location within a U.S. jurisdiction in the Eastern or Central time zones
