Job Description
Software Engineer building Cribl telemetry integrations with Splunk, Kafka, cloud storage, and other data systems. Developing NodeJS/TypeScript features, tests, and support capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Build software components integrating Cribl’s data stream processing engine with Splunk, Elastic Search, Kafka, AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, and Google Cloud Storage.
- Provision, build, and configure third-party technologies, systems, and accounts for research and development.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain clear, robust code.
- Develop expertise in NodeJS and TypeScript, and work with Node internals when needed.
- Create test plans, automated tests, and integration tests.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and business teams to implement feature specifications.
- Provide feedback on feature design and participate in code reviews.
- Participate in a weekly 24/7 support on-call rotation.
- Contribute to internal and external communities, documentation, and product blogs.
- Help the broader team beyond defined job duties.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience integrating with third party applications, libraries, and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience with using and developing REST APIs.
- Experience interacting with and building on cloud based platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Experience with authorization and authentication standards such as Oauth2, OpenID Connect, LDAP and SAML is a plus.
- Comfort with significant research and discovery before coding begins.
- Demonstrated ability to build robust systems in the face of uncertainty.
- Experience with Agile processes and rapid iterative development.
- Strong sense of ownership with focus on high quality and high performing deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to explain complex technical topics to both internal and external stakeholders with ease and in remote/distributed environments.
- Insatiable curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and products.
- Willingness to participate in a weekly 24/7 support on-call rotation, including stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
