Job Description
Staff Engineer with Data & AI Focus at The Quality Group GmbH. Driving architectural improvements and supporting engineers while integrating AI technologies across teams, in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
- You provide architectural and technical leadership by driving scalable architectures and long-term technical improvements across teams
- You support engineers hands-on in designing and implementing high-quality services, distributed systems, and data pipelines
- You collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and other Staff Engineers to align on architectural decisions and technical direction
- You evaluate and integrate AI technologies where they strengthen systems, processes, or product capabilities with measurable impact
- You enable responsible AI adoption by defining best practices, guidelines, and reusable patterns across engineering
- You mentor engineers and drive cross-team alignment while reducing complexity and improving engineering-wide consistency
Requirements:
- You have extensive experience in modern software engineering and distributed systems
- You bring strong architectural thinking and can align teams and stakeholders on technical decisions
- You have deep experience with event-driven systems, microservices, and AWS-based architectures
- You are familiar with data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data governance, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks
- You have a solid understanding of AI concepts such as LLMs, embeddings, vector search, agents, and automation patterns
- You have experience integrating AI capabilities into existing systems or workflows and assessing feasibility, risk, and impact
- You communicate fluently in English; German is a plus
