Job Description
Staff Software Engineer leading scalable provider-facing digital products for CVS Health’s healthcare platforms. Designing cloud-native systems, microservices, and AI-enabled engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable provider-facing digital products and enterprise healthcare platforms
- Drive end-to-end software delivery across the full technology stack
- Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed-systems architectures
- Modernize legacy applications into cloud-based, service-oriented platforms
- Translate complex business requirements into innovative and scalable technical solutions with Product Management, Business, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams
- Provide technical leadership for strategic initiatives, architectural decisions, technology selection, engineering standards, and delivery execution
- Design and develop secure, highly available, high-performance application architectures
- Ensure reliability, observability, maintainability, and compliance requirements are met
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and best-practice adoption
- Implement and optimize cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices
- Enable automated deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency
- Leverage Redis, Kafka, SNS/SQS, relational databases, and NoSQL databases for performance, scalability, and real-time processing
- Champion emerging technologies and AI-driven engineering practices, including GenAI-powered development tools and automation frameworks
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale, full-stack applications
- 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or microservices design and development
- 5+ years of experience with React or TypeScript-based frameworks
- 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, and infrastructure-as-code for automated deployments
- 3+ years of experience with a public cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Alternatively, high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, and microservices-based API integration and design
- Experience designing scalable distributed systems and modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native services
- Experience with Redis or ElastiCache caching technologies
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience using GenAI technologies, tools, and frameworks in the SDLC
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting design and code reviews, and driving engineering best practices
- Strong proficiency in relational and NoSQL database design and data management, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka, SNS, and SQS
