Job Description
Platform Backend Lead Engineer at Cleerly overseeing core technical team for enterprise-level imaging solutions. Focusing on backend architecture and integrations for heart disease diagnosis.
Responsibilities:
- Own Core Services: Be the technical owner for the platform's core orchestration and integration services
- Define Architectural Standards: Set architecture standards, define service contracts and error semantics
- Design & Document Solutions: Design, document, and demonstrate technical solutions
- Full Cycle Participation: Participate actively in the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Drive Code Quality: Perform rigorous code reviews and ensure excellent unit test coverage
- Development Contribution: Participate in developing and maintaining the necessary APIs, integrations, and libraries
- Implement Observability: Integrate logging, metrics, and tracing tools
Requirements:
- 8–12+ years building complex backend platforms
- Strong proficiency in API design (REST/gRPC)
- Expertise in event-driven architectures
- Extensive data modeling experience
- Hands-on coding mastery in Java/Kotlin, Go, Python, C#
- Proven ownership of critical reliability features
- Strong knowledge of security fundamentals
- Experience with performance engineering techniques
- Deep experience building and operating backend services in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with container orchestration and AWS Machine Learning services
- Previous experience as a Principal Software Engineer or equivalent in the Medical Imaging or Medical Device industry preferred
