Job Description

Manager leading tax audit processes and improvements for GE Healthcare across Europe. Driving efficiency and compliance with strong accounting and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Tax leaders to design and implement best in class, harmonized processes, including the necessary systems and organization to ensure timely and sustainable tax audit request delivery.
  • Establish process solutions to ensure tax audit data requests are met.
  • Responsible for developing and directing the improvement, alignment, simplification and standardization of all supporting processes, and documenting as SOP’s.
  • Manage relationships with Tax, Controllership, Accounting CoE’s and Business teams to drive efficient & effective tax audit delivery.
  • Provide Controllership and Tax leadership updates.
  • Leverage IT and lead design and implementation of automations to maximize efficiencies and reduce the cost of the data gathering process.
  • Lead largely through strong influencing and change management skills.
  • Look for the best solutions by seeking, sharing, and partnering with others in order to identify best practices globally (or externally) for simplification, and adopt in the International region.
  • Ensure readiness for tax audits and establish the right archiving mechanism.
  • Monitor archiving mechanism for upstream processes owned by Accounting CoE’s.
  • Work closely with Senior Functional Leaders to define a clear RACI matrix and build standard work in their respective areas (e.g. payroll to C&B rec, customs tie-outs etc).
  • Manage the employee responsible for tax audit data gathering, in partnership with business teams and Accounting CoE’s.
  • Ensure that all obligations are submitted by the due dates.
  • Coordinate tax audits data requests in line with best practice: ensuring that each stakeholder knows their actions and deadlines, maintaining a tracker of open items, sending reminders as required, organizing regular update calls.
  • Ensure that financial data, accounting analysis, reconciliation to stats and other documents to be provided to the tax authorities, have been properly reviewed & validated at an appropriate level.

Requirements:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent certification (or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting/finance) combined with a strong background in accounting.
  • Proven experience in handling Statutory and Tax filings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in IFRS and USGAAP.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management or transformation.
  • A moderate level of tax knowledge.
  • Detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and strict deadlines.
  • Languages: Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Leadership or Manager experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills; ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders in the processes.
  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels and functions; ability to develop professional relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
  • Solid systems skills: strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e., pivot tables, lookup functions, macros, etc).
  • Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e. Oracle, SAP etc) is a plus.
