Job Description
Technical Product Support Engineer supporting Onto Innovation’s semiconductor process-control tools. Providing hardware escalation support, field-service training, documentation, testing, and customer-site assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level hardware support for the installed base of Onto Innovation tools through the escalation process, via remote support or at customer sites
- Develop and communicate plans of action and results to internal and external customers
- Improve support structures for existing products through documentation revision and development
- Provide field feedback on quality issues to design engineers
- Provide on-the-job training to Field Service Engineers
- Provide Field Service input to New Product Development through design reviews and testing
- Support documentation development and qualification criteria during New Product Introduction
- Occasionally support field service activities in a Field Service Engineer capacity
- Remain in a stationary position for lengthy periods
- Access serviceable areas in a cleanroom environment
- Move components or diagnostic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in a cleanroom environment
Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Familiar with PCs and strong troubleshooting background
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Current visa or entry permission for international travel
- Ability to travel 40% of the time
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Field Support Service
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain stationary for lengthy periods
- Ability to access serviceable areas in a cleanroom environment
- Ability to frequently move components or diagnostic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in a cleanroom environment
- U.S. export licensing review may be necessary for applicants who are not U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or other protected persons under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
