Job Description
Remote Video Editor roster producing social-first and longer-form content for UNESCO's South Asia communications. Editing, grading, mixing, subtitling, and delivering platform-ready videos.
Responsibilities:
- Receive raw footage and project briefs from UNESCO
- Produce edited video content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and longer digital formats
- Assemble sequences according to scripts, storyboards, creative briefs, or UNESCO direction
- Recommend pacing, cuts, and visual elements
- Produce reels, clips, teaser videos, interview bytes, event wrap-ups, campaign videos, and interview cuts
- Apply colour correction and grading, audio editing and synchronization, sound mixing, subtitling, captioning, lower-thirds, motion graphics, voice-overs, and music integration
- Add and synchronize subtitles and captions
- Ensure visual content complies with UNESCO Graphic Standards and Logo Toolkit, including the UNESCO video outro where required
- Mainstream UNESCO's gender strategy and reflect gender-balanced representation
- Ensure compliance with international copyright policy and appropriate licensing
- Submit first-round edits in MP4 format for review and incorporate feedback and revisions
- Deliver ready-to-publish MP4 files using H.264 and appropriate platform resolution, plus editable source/master files and linked assets
- Meet committed deadlines and promptly flag anticipated delays
- Maintain regular communication with UNESCO via email and online meetings
- Provide remote post-production and editing services on an on-call basis
Requirements:
- Individual consultant (non-staff) or registered agency/firm
- Candidates may be based anywhere in South Asia; must state country of residence/base and regions/countries available for assignments
- University degree and/or professional training in film production, video editing, broadcast media, digital communications, or related fields
- A demonstrable portfolio may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of demonstrable professional experience in video editing, including social media content production
- Experience with institutional or development-sector communications is an asset
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent
- Experience producing video content for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn, including reels, shorts, and platform-optimized formats
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows, colour grading, audio mixing, and multi-format export
- Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or equivalent is an asset
- Experience with subtitle and closed-caption integration
- Ability to manage and archive large media file libraries
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines and revision cycles
- Familiarity with UNESCO or UN branding standards is an advantage
- AI-generated content or AI video/audio enhancement tools are prohibited unless expressly authorized by UNESCO
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required
- Proficiency in local languages of the duty station is an asset
- At least three recent portfolio work samples, from the last three years, with brief project descriptions and role
- Ability to provide daily professional rates in local currency
