Job Description
Short-form video editor transforming raw footage into engaging vertical content for social media. Editing 28+ videos monthly with a focus on optimization for engagement and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Edit 28+ vertical videos per month
- Create optimized versions for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts
- Add captions, pacing, transitions, hooks
- Select appropriate B-roll (accurate and contextually correct)
- Ensure content aligns with platform trends and audience behavior
- Understand basic social media strategy
- Identify hooks and retention points
- Structure videos for maximum watch time
- Adapt organic content for paid media when required
- Use AI tools to accelerate editing workflows
- Create static ads or AI-generated variations
- Repurpose organic content into paid ad creatives
- Generate alternate versions efficiently
Requirements:
- Proven experience editing short-form vertical content
- Portfolio showcasing vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
- Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, and retention
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail (contextually accurate B-roll selection)
- Ability to accept feedback and iterate quickly
- Experience working with creators (bonus over brand-only experience)
- AI proficiency (prompt engineering, automation tools)
- Experience creating paid media variations
- High cumulative view count across edited content
- Startup experience
- Open to various editing platforms: Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, AI-based editing tools
