Job Description
Virtualization Engineer operating enterprise VMware platforms for Bright Vision Technologies’ cloud and software solutions. Automating virtualization, networking, storage, and hybrid-cloud operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms
- Design, deploy, and operate software-defined networking platforms
- Design, deploy, and operate software-defined storage platforms
- Support on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
- Work with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu
- Automate platform operations
- Manage capacity
- Operate a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads
- Troubleshoot issues across compute, network, and storage layers
- Apply enterprise-scale VMware platform engineering and operations discipline
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience required
- Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience
- Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
- Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management
- Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking
- Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling
- Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials preferred
- Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE preferred
- Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) preferred
- Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations preferred
- Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms preferred
