Job Description

VP leading Release Management, QA, and DevOps for Bankjoy, a fintech modernizing digital banking for community banks and credit unions. Building automation-first quality and platform reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Release Management, QA, and DevOps, owning delivery quality, release discipline, and platform reliability
  • Maintain dotted-line coordination with manual QA engineers across engineering value streams
  • Provide hands-on leadership in solution design, architecture decisions, production incident response, and troubleshooting
  • Partner with the VP of Engineering on AI coding adoption, architectural standards, and release coordination
  • Participate in senior leadership with the COO, VP of Engineering, and product leadership
  • Design and implement an engineering quality framework covering testing and release readiness
  • Own multi-platform automation for Angular, Swift, and Kotlin
  • Define and enforce quality gates and go/no-go release criteria
  • Develop and coach QA toward automation-first quality engineering
  • Establish test data management, environment parity, and CI/CD quality integration
  • Build quality dashboards for engineering and leadership
  • Implement structured release gate processes and formal sign-offs
  • Collaborate with Technical Support to connect production issues with engineering prioritization
  • Own post-release retrospectives and drive systemic process changes
  • Enforce scope freeze discipline and QA participation in planning and grooming
  • Lead DevOps strategy across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, and reliability
  • Drive observability and visibility into system health, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and MTTR
  • Oversee SRE practices and build toward a future SRE function
  • Ensure infrastructure and deployment practices meet security, compliance, and uptime standards
  • Champion AI-assisted coding, testing, test generation, test maintenance, and regression coverage

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • At least 4 years in engineering leadership managing QA, DevOps, or platform reliability teams
  • Deep quality engineering background with personally built or rebuilt automation frameworks
  • Experience migrating automation frameworks across web, iOS, and Android platforms
  • Success shifting manual-heavy QA to automation-first practices in fintech, banking, or a regulated environment
  • Experience implementing release gates and enforcing go/no-go decisions
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Maestro, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Angular, Swift, and Kotlin environments is advantageous
  • Strong DevOps and platform reliability experience, including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability
  • AWS experience preferred
  • Experience driving AI coding and testing tool adoption
  • Technical depth in solution design, architecture, incident response, and root-cause analysis
  • Cross-functional experience with technical support, release management, and product
  • Excellent communication and organizational influence
  • Fintech, core banking, or digital banking experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with credit union or community bank environments is a plus
  • Experience with SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or similar compliance contexts is a plus
  • Experience managing QA transitions from manual QA to quality engineering is a plus
  • Experience building or managing an SRE function is a plus
  • Ability to work standard business hours aligned with Eastern Time
  • Must work remotely from the country in which hired
