Job Description
Embedded Linux Software Engineer developing C/C++ control systems for Güntner’s global refrigeration and air-conditioning technology business. Designing communication, networking, and data-management solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions in C/C++ on Embedded Linux platforms
- Develop communication, networking, and data management functionalities using industrial and IP-based protocols
- Define scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures and system designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into integrated software solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, communication, and system-level issues throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure software quality through code reviews, unit and integration testing, and automated test methodologies
- Use data and technical insights to support decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
- Travel periodically to international manufacturing facilities and occasionally attend customer or internal meetings when virtual participation is not feasible
Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience developing embedded software in modern C/C++ within Linux environments
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, multithreading, and embedded systems
- Hands-on experience with networking, communication protocols, software testing, Git, and Agile development practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering teams
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems, Qt/QML, STM32/ESP32 platforms, RTOS, CI/CD, UML, industrial communication protocols, cloud and IoT technologies, cybersecurity, data analytics, and related certifications
