Job Description

VP leading Circle’s Latin American policy, licensing, and regulatory strategy. Shaping market expansion for digital-asset payments and blockchain financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Circle’s public policy, regulatory strategy, and market positioning across the Latin America region
  • Serve as an integral component of the strategy, global policy, and corporate communications leadership team
  • Work with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Product, Finance and other teams to unlock growth, reduce regulatory friction, and align evolving standards
  • Engage with key regulators and stakeholders in target markets
  • Drive analysis, engagement and regulatory filings supporting company licensure and operations in target markets
  • Lead regulatory, policy and other engagements supporting a global market and regulatory environment conducive to Circle’s products, solutions, and services
  • Track global policy, regulatory and market acceptance of digital currencies, blockchain-based payment systems and crypto-assets
  • Formulate regulatory engagement, stakeholder mapping and market segmentation based on company market expansion plans
  • Review present and future regulatory requirements in target markets with legal, compliance and operational leaders
  • Lead market expansion and regulatory efforts around the world
  • Create regulatory consultation responses, requests for information, comments and other external stakeholder engagements
  • Build stakeholder coalitions to advance the regulatory agenda
  • Collaborate with business and cross-functional leaders to enable business success
  • Lead a dynamic global strategy, policy and communications team

Requirements:

  • 14+ years of legal, policy, regulatory and policymaking experience at the nexus of emerging technology, financial services and global markets
  • 8+ years of experience managing and leading teams
  • Technical virtuosity, policy instincts and relationships at the highest levels of government, policymaking and regulatory matters shaping the future of money and payments
  • Proven knowledge at the strategic and technical levels in regulatory engagement in the payments and financial service domains
  • In depth knowledge of LatAm policy, regulatory, legal and licensing requirements for the payments, digital currencies, crypto-assets and blockchain-based market
  • Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and prompt development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Portuguese and Spanish
  • Experience building cross-functional teams across geographic locations and delivering results
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite
