Job Description
YouTube Shorts Editor creating Minecraft videos for Spawnpoint Media, a global youth and family entertainment producer. Editing trend-driven vertical content with music, SFX, VFX, and analytics-led pacing.
Responsibilities:
- Create engaging 15–60 second vertical videos that keep the audience hooked
- Produce content relevant to current Minecraft, social media, and pop-culture trends
- Mimic existing editing styles
- Apply cuts, flow, tempo variation, and pacing to eliminate dead space and maintain viewer engagement
- Use music effectively, including BPM, genre selection, and seamless transitions
- Implement sound effects to enhance immersion and narrative impact
- Integrate visual effects, including keyframing, color grading, footage ingest, and other techniques
- Schedule content across multiple platforms
- Share ideas, feedback, and assets with team members
- Use Monday.com and Discord to collaborate, share edits, and coordinate
- Manage time, meet deadlines, and continually improve editing skills and techniques
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in video editing
- Proficiency with YouTube Analytics and metrics including Average View Duration (AVD), Click-Through Rate (CTR), AVD in the first 30 seconds, and Impressions
- Skillful use of Sound Effects (SFX) and Visual Effects (VFX)
- Exceptional communication skills and proactive engagement within team dynamics
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines and navigate project timelines
- Ability to incorporate feedback constructively and adapt editing approaches
- In-depth knowledge of social media and pop-culture trends, ideally focused on the Minecraft community
- Expertise applying Look-Up Tables (LUTs) and color correction techniques
- Preferably, experience with timecode syncing
