Job Description
YouTube Video Editor turning raw footage into polished design education content for Mobbin, a digital design reference platform. Owning pacing, sound, captions, and visual clarity.
Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage, screen recordings, and scripts, including talking-head pieces, UI/UX teardowns, product deep-dives, and educational content
- Own pacing and story in the cut to maintain viewer retention
- Clean dialogue and add tasteful music and sound effects
- Perform color correction and create clean captions/subtitles
- Add simple on-screen text and callouts to clarify UI details
- Turn around edits on a predictable schedule
- Incorporate feedback in tight loops
- Keep project files organized
- Work directly with Rachel How on the Mobbin YouTube channel and her personal channel
Requirements:
- Portfolio or channel demonstrating strong storytelling in the timeline
- Strong pacing, sound design, and visual clarity skills
- Understanding of design-focused visual content and Mobbin’s audience and branding
- Understanding of YouTube retention curves, hooks, and the importance of the first 30 seconds
- Fluency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
- Ability to manage an independent contractor schedule
- Clear communication and ability to meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to flag problems early
- Bonus: After Effects motion graphics skills
- Bonus: Previous collaboration using Frame.io or equivalent
- Bonus: Thumbnail design sense
- Bonus: Experience editing for other YouTube channels
- Ability to work in any timezone with reasonable overlap to SGT
